Valentijn R. N. Pauwels received the M.Sc. degree of Engineer in Agricultural Sciences from Ghent University, Gent, Belgium, in 1994 and the Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering and Operations Research from Princeton University, Princeton, NJ, in 1999. From 1999 to 2004, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate with the Laboratory of Hydrology and Water Management, Ghent University, at which he became an Senior Lecturer in 2005. In 2012, he became a Senior Lecturer at Monash University. His major
research interest is hydrologic model development and optimization.
